Projects

ROV Lamp

Logic Magic were approached by Seatronics Ltd to help develop a replacement lighting systems for their under water ROV equipment, to replace their current fragile tungsten halogen units. The project brief was:

Work off a broad range of voltages.
Be controlled remotely up to 4km.
Have manual dimming capability.
Have automatic over temperature cut off.
Have similar or greater light output than a 300W halogen lamp.

By working closely with the customer the total design was taken through from conceptual prototype design to finished product in 3 design iterations.

The electronics system in this project form the basis of the Logic Magic product uPUCK.

Chelsea Flower Show Egg

We were approached by this company to design some high power cool lighting to illuminate a giant acrylic egg for use at the RHS Chelsea flower show. The egg some 1m high and 0.75m wide needed to be smoothly illuminated with very slow colour changing lighting. The light had to be powerful but cool running, as it was to be installed in a sealed environment. The colour changes has to be imperceptibly subtle, but continuous, and extremely smooth. Following on from previous systems for this customer the LED assembly used was 2 Lamina Ceramics BL3000 RGB modules providing some 25W of lighting power each resulting in the equivalent of approx 250W of each Red, Green and blue light.

The end result was a stunning piece, both artistically and visually.
